In September we teamed up with Delaware North Companies to support a great cause: funding arts programs in Atlanta’s schools.
The plan: have some of Atlanta’s most talented high school artists create large-scale paintings, then auction the works off to raise money to supplement art classes in the Atlanta.
ASM created the auction website, while DNC provided art supplies, logistics and a fantastic exhibition space on the walls of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The only guideline for the artists was to use the tools and materials provided to express themselves to the best of their talent within a two-week timeframe.
Submissions came from teams and individuals, and by the end of the two weeks DNC had collected 14 beautiful paintings by 44 students from the schools. Then ASM went to work getting the word out and spreading awareness of the artwork via social media – as well as launching a targeted Fanatical outreach to solicit participation in the auction. By the end of the auction period, the paintings raised $10,000 with all proceeds going directly to the artists’ schools.
