A classic game for a classic company.

Hormel Foods Spirit Week, a virtual celebration held in September 2020, was filled with events to reinforce team culture and honor the inspired people and inspired brands of Hormel Foods.  

For the Brand Jam session, the goal was to celebrate the wide variety of brands in the Hormel Foods family. How do you highlight so many treasured brands, while having team-wide fun in a virtual setting? We created the solution – Hormel Foods Brand Bingo!

We developed a custom board generator so each team member could easily play using a unique board populated with dozens of the many brands of Hormel Foods. To call out bingo squares, we created a brand square generator for the game host. The live game took place in a Microsoft Teams room, where the host announced each call while providing interesting brand history and trivia – until we had a winner. 


Hundreds of participants from across the company tuned in to take part in a classic game to the sound of  “G – SKIPPY® Peanut Butter,” or “I – HORMEL® chili,” clicking completed squares and competing for prizes.  Due to the overwhelming demand, we began a second gameroom for the large and growing number of participants. Several rounds of games served to pay homage to the extensive lineup of leading Hormel Foods brands, while providing a fun, informative and memorable experience for each team member. Brand BINGO game participant and winner, Kyle Freese, put it best saying “It was a fun game that was ultimately relaxing during the new and uncertain times due to the pandemic. And I never knew we had SO many brands out there, either old, current, or new! Also, my prize was a lamp that I now use every single day since it arrived! Thanks again to the Hormel team for putting it together and picking such cool little prizes!”
